I have only ever tried Mateo’s paletas. Mostly because there is a location on the west-ish side of LA.

One of my favorite things about fall is my desire to turn the oven on and start roasting and baking everything in sight! After an extra hot and really smoky summer, (from all the forest fires) the cool crisp mornings and beautiful fall colors are more than welcome.

What is it like to be old in the United States? What will our own lives be like when we are old? Americans find it difficult to think about old age until they are propelled into the midst of it by their own aging and that of relatives and friends. Aging is the neglected stepchild of the human life cycle. Though we have begun to examine the socially taboo1 subjects of dying and death, we have leaped over that long period of time preceding death known as old age. In truth, it is easier to manage the problems of death than the problem of living as an old person. Death is a dramatic, one-time crisis while old age is a day-by-day and year-by-year confrontation2 with powerful external forces, a bittersweet coming to terms with one's own personality and one's life subtank nano.

Stuffed cabbage rolls were on my mother's regular meal rotation when I was a kid. And I loved them. Even the cabbage part. As a veryMetro Ethernet young woman on my own, I kept a crazy schedule with a full time job and grad school at night. No time to cook much and mostly what was in my fridge was yogurt. Except on those lovely evenings when I'd get home late, open the fridge and find that my mother had dropped by during the day and left me a pot of her homemade cabbage rolls. She was such a good mommy.

 So here’s the deal:

The sun is setting earlier, I spy pumpkin on Pinterest, and I can detect the faint sound of a football game in the wind. HOLD IT EVERYONE! I love a slice of apple pie as much as the next sane person, but we still have summer days to relish and Fizzy Peach Jalapeno Margaritas to sip DR REBORN.

The saltiness of the pancetta and the crunchiness of the corn and celery all mixed together with pasta, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, make this dish a light and healthy choice on those hot and sunny days when you just don’t have the strength or even the willingness to cook up any Michelin-star meal.

Unquestionably, the recipe that gets the most traffic on this site would be my Foolproof Paleo Mayo. Kind of ironic isn’t it, seeing as how it’s not even a recipe per se… Does that say anything about my cooking skills? Should I perhaps take a hint?

So this happened. And I totally forgot about them. Not because they weren’t amazing but because I made so many recipes that week I just got distracted with editing those photos. Then today we went and met with our financial genius, I mean adviser and we were on such a high (I know, who feels like that about finances? But keep reading why) that I sat down to write a post. When I pulled up my photos to see which recipe I should talk about I saw our white chocolate cranberry cookies sitting there. I literally can taste that chewy on the outside, soft in the middle with that creamy, lickable white chocolate and big juicy craisins, my goodness I’m craving them now!!!
